Mulayh Ibn Maareesa

Ansata Amir Zaman x Maareesa
1995 Bay Stallion
Imported from Germany

Mulayh Ibn Mareesa is the latest imported stallion for Simeon Stud, and is on lease from Germany. Marion Richmond says “I’ve travelled the world over the past 50 years, and come to realize that the type of horse I breed is what I like. To continue breeding though, I have to incorporate new bloodlines that are complimentary to the program’.

Marion believes the old Egyptian bloodlines behind Asfour and Imperial Madaar are of great importance – Hadban Enzahi, Ghazal, Maymoonah and Morafic. She travelled to Germany where, after a very long journey into the countryside, she discovered in a barn the young mare CM Moussameh, and promptly made arrangements for her to travel to Australia.

Marion has always believed that a stallions worth is not in the show ring, but in his progeny.  ‘The story of bringing Mulayh Ibn Mareesa to Australia is really one which starts at the end. I was so enamoured with his daughter, and set about looking at more of these bloodlines. When the opportunity to lease her sire was presented, it felt serendipitous. “

A powerful bay, Mulayh Ibn Mareesa is by Ansata Amir Zaman, who is in turn by Ansata Shah Zaman, famed the world over for his athleticism. In turn, he goes back to Ansata Ibn Sudan, Marion’s favourite Ansata stallion ever born. His dam Maareesa incorporates closely the bloodlines of the afore-mentioned Ghazal, Morafic and Hadban Enzahi.

Simeon is keeping both a son and grandson of Mulayh Ibn Maareesa as future sires, and several amazing daughters all from his first Simeon-born foal crop.
